I bought a few yards of Beatles fabric to make my sister, Norma, an apron. Since then, she has become angry with me for not going to her daughter’s (Julie’s) wedding. I made the apron but don’t know if I should mail it to her or not. I am afraid that she will not accept it.
I now have about 2 yards left and want to make something really cool with it but not sure what! I did use some of it to make a Nook cover for my Nook Tablet I received as a Christmas present from my son. I am posting a picture of it here. I just love the way it turned out.
Nook cover made for the Nook Tablet I received for Christmas!
I just wanted to write our experiences down because I know how they get changed through the years when they are just verbal stories. At least I have written my memories down. Most of the stories happened in the house we grew up in and we call it The Lake Station House. My brother and his family still live in it and things are still happening. What I need from friends and family are pictures and memories that they would like to share. Vintage pictures of Lake Station (East Gary) would be fun to look at. I would be forever grateful if anyone has any information they are willing to share with me.
Also, I would like to know how to find information about an area or property. I have written to the mayor of Lake Station and the library. I hope they write back. Don’t know what else I can do to find more information, do you?
Ok, If any of you out there ever visited us at the Lake Station house and have any memories you would like to share or have pictures, please send them to me. I would really love to see any pictures and stories you may have to tell. I think this could be a fun and informative project. Who knows, we may even solve the mystery of that house. I don’t know how I’m going to do it but I am going into old city records to see what information I can “dig” up about the previous owners. Also about the city of Lake Station. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated! You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks
Since so many things happened at the Lake Station House, I decided that when I print my “book”, it’s going to be called the lake station house. As soon as my siblings supply me with pictures, I can begin putting this together. Maybe I can have it done by Christmas.
I do not believe in ghosts. These are just stories of unexplained things that happened at the Lake Station House.
I would like to thank my family for reminding me about some of these stories. I will be forever grateful for having such wonderful loving parents. My family has always been very close. We have had a remarkable life. Now that I’m getting older, I decided that it was time to tell all those stories that we were afraid to tell. Afraid that people would think we were crazy. We were sure that these kinds of things didn’t happen to other “normal” people so we kept them to ourselves.
The rest of this story will be sent to the family and anyone who added their memories. I want to thank everyone who submitted their memories about the lake station house and gave me suggestions for the actually writing. Keep the stories coming….I love them.
If anyone else wants to read them, please contact me.
Well, its almost time for my favorite holiday. I look forward to this day every year! There are so many crafts associated with halloween and that’s what makes it fun for me. When I lived in the midwest, everyone decorated with ghosts, goblins etc. It was so much fun to drive around all the neighborhoods and see the decorations. Now that I live in Arizona, its not so much fun. Maybe you’ll see a house now and than with decorations but its not the same sort of excitement. Same goes for Christmas, New Years and The fourth of July! I would love to go to an adult halloween party! I have been saying those words for most of my adult life but have not been invited to one or even have heard of anyone having one ever!
